Development update: Riverend's first eight days

Where Riverend stands after its first eight days: a full Tombs of Amascut raid, every hub boss, special attacks, prayer, and what comes next on the way to launch.

Where we are

Riverend's first commit landed on 9 October 2026. Eight days later the server runs the current Old School RuneScape client, revision 240, through RuneLite, and has a full raid, every boss on the teleport hub and the endgame gear that goes with them.

Everything is written from scratch in Kotlin. Nothing is a reskinned base, so every mechanic is checked against the revision 240 cache, protocol captures and the OSRS wiki before it ships.

Built so far

  • Tombs of Amascut: all four paths, every boss, the Wardens, invocations, raid levels and points-based loot
  • The Raid Buddy: a hired companion for solo raids, with levels and a talent tree
  • Bosses: Barrows, Giant Mole, Dagannoth Kings, King Black Dragon, the four God Wars generals, Zulrah, Vorkath and Zalcano
  • OSRS-accurate melee, ranged and magic, with a built-in DPS calculator that shares the game's combat code
  • Special attacks, weapon passives, Barrows set effects, enchanted bolts and powered staves
  • The full prayer book, quick prayers, bones and altars
  • Grand Exchange, shops, banks, trading and a teleport hub
  • Woodcutting and Mining
  • Friends, private messages, chat-channels and clans
  • All Settings, saved per account
  • A starter kit, general stores in Falador and Edgeville, and a ::help command

What's next

The next stretch is the early game. A new player can already fight and gather, but logs and ore have nothing to become yet. Skills arrive in this order: Firemaking, Fishing, Cooking, Smithing, Fletching and Crafting, Thieving and Agility, then Runecraft and Herblore.

Before launch we'll load-test the server with bots, publish the client download and write a step-by-step RuneLite guide. The launch date will be announced on Discord first.
